Finishing

We use a wide variety of finishing processes to add value, utility and appeal to your work. 

Coating: gloss and matt UV varnish, flood coat or spot. These can be screened or rollercoated on; rollercoted UV is less prone to cracking on creases, but not as glossy as screened. UV Varnish is available in all sizes up to 8'x4' (2.4x1.2m). Gloss and matt lamination for higher quality and tactile appeal, also advisable for work going into mounting and die-cutting. Encapsulation in thicknesses from .005 upwards, ideal for providing full waterproofing on bar-top items, menus, etc.

Mounting: from A3 size up to 60x40", on to boards from 500 micron thick up to 5mm thick foamcore. We can mount two prints on boxboard together to make a 1mm thick board, ideal for larger hanging cards where rigidity is required, but low weight. We mount on display boards and corrugated boards to form the basis of showcards, dispensers, dump bins, etc.

Die-cutting: enables your work to be the shape you want. We can produce any size and quantity, on materials from 80gsm up to 5mm thick foamcore. We use a variety of different machines, including cylinders (Heidelberg), automatic platens (Heidelberg 'windmill', Bobst) and hand platens, to offer the best finish, fastest turnaround and optimum price for each item. Including automatic stripping on some machines.

Glueing: automatic and hand glueing for folders, boxes and POS displays.

Embossing & Foil-Blocking: stamp your design onto a variety of substrates, either with an embossed (raised) effect, or using one of hundreds of different coloured foils.

Fold/stitch/trim: for leaflets, brochures and books. Including perfect-binding (paperback with spine), sewn sections for books, leaflets banded in specific quantities, and hand-folding for very large or small items.

Hand Make-Up: essential for many of the more complex displays we make. We have teams of bench workers and outworkers who can handle quantities of many thousands of items.

Insertion & Packing: we pack mailings and promotional kits, from single letters up to 20-item kits. We produce mailing packaging, including display outers and mailing outers. We shrinkwrap in specific quantities, ideal for leaflets etc. going into kits.
